I have Lenovo G40-70, intel core i5, AMD R5 M230, 1 x 4 GB DDR3L 12800 Hynix RAM and windows 10 OS.

Laptop won't boot. Fan and everything is on. I've tried to connect to an external monitor, power drain, and overflow my GPU. The screen just flashing dim green light which only visible on bright light. last condition, i was playing games ( or watching a video, i don't remember. ) when its low of battery. it shutdown forcely because low of energy. i left it over night and the next morning it only show blackscreen. A few days later it working but then after shutdown the condition continues.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then see if it would boot up.
- Next is to try connect an external monitor and see if you'll get a display from it because if you do that means it's the LCD display that has the issue, you'll need to check the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard.
- If these doesn't work do check the AC adapter if it's supplying enough voltage or try a different AC adapter.
- Do also reseat the RAM's, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything was seated properly.
- If all these will not work the problem lies int the motherboard itself.

I've done all of them last week. The last thing i can try is RAM change. But i also have tried that with a DDR3 2 GB RAM. There're also rumors about "DDR3 RAM cannot fit on G40-70, the only thing that can be used is DDR3L" Is this true? If yes i'll try to buy another ram
