buying my first laptop HELP

hi i need help selecting a laptop for school/home. i am torn between these 2
Dell Inspiron 3543 i3543-4975BLK Signature Edition
and
Dell Inspiron 15 i5558-5718SLV Signature Edition
i am more worried about the specs, such as 1080p vs 720p 4gb ddr3l vs 8gb ddr3l as well as processors i3543 vs i54210u

by the way my budget shipped(i live in alaska) is roughly $550!

Without knowing your specific uses for a laptop, the first thing I'd do is choose one with a 1080p display.

Hi, thanks for the quick response! So I would be using it for basically everything researching on the web (multiple tabs open) email,youtube,videos, movies, not so much games and yeah all around use nothing too specific. Mainly wondering which one is better over the other. I can get the 3543 model for about $150 cheaper but the specs between the 2 are putting me in a bind, how much better is one over the other?
