I've had an issue with my PC for a while not turning on (as in no boot whatsoever) and was speaking to someone today about it who explained that if it were the motherboard to have died, there PC would still get through a stage in booting up.
Is this true? Or would the PC still do nothing when turning on the power if the motherboard had for example died from a static shock?
