I bought a new laptop a bit after christmas, and for the first 2-3 weeks i was loving it, was playing GTA V on very high settings at 57-62 fps no problems, but recently I've been getting fps problems in every game. On occasions, in rainbow six siege my fps drops to 30, in minecraft it hovers around 50, in gta v it's constantly jumping from 40-57 fps, and in CS:GO my game freezes for about half a second every 5-10 minutes. It may be a heat problem, but i doubt it since it's too new to have much dust in it, and I own a cooling pad with 2 fans in it. While idling, my processor sits around 50-65 C, and my graphics card sits at 50. I've done virus scans, changed power options, and messed around in game settings, nvidia geforce expereience, nvidia control panel, and nvidia inspector, and nothing has really helped.
My specs are
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M (Dell) ForceWare version: 361.43, SLI Disabled
Intel Core i7 6700HQ @ 2.60GHz with Skylake 14nm Technology
my motherboard is a Dell Inc. 0H0CC0 (U3E1) and I'm running on windows 10.
Any help would be very much appreciated, so thank you in advance.

You should make sure that you don't have a lot of background processes going... try using this app to disable apps that don't need to run constantly. Also, make sure your computer is not charging while you play. Finally, try setting the game's process priority to high while playing. To do this, go to task manager and find the task either under processes or details.
Hope this helps!

Hi,

Please do try doing a clean install of the graphics card driver that may help in solving the issue.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall your graphics card driver.
- Do the same in Programs and Features, uninstall any software related to NVIDIA graphics.
- Next is to download and install the latest graphics card driver from it's support site.
- Here's the link: nvidia.com/download/index.aspx
- Once the latest driver has been installed reboot your laptop for all the changes to take effect.
- After the reboot do set NVIDIA as the default graphics card.

- Do also run Windows Update and install all updates available.

I tried this, but it didn't work too much, it increased my fps in GTA V a little bit though. Anything else i could do?

Also, try defragmenting your hard drive. To do this, type Defrag in the windows search bar and click on Defragment and Optimize Drivers. Click the OS drive and click optimize.
