I've had the Logitech G430 Headset for over a year now and every time I mess with the volume control wheel connected on the wire, the left-right sound balance gets messed up. I end up having to mess with it until I find a spot where the sound is centered, which is usually significantly lower than full volume.

I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. After over a year of use this is the only major problem I am having with this headset.

Solution
Not uncommon for a volume control to "wear" when set in the same spot over time..... then the sound degrades.

You may be able to set the volume at the desired level and then work with the balance via the sound card software or speaker setting icon.

Depends on your set up and how much tolerance you have with respect to the desired sound quality.

Otherwise a new set of headphones may be warranted. Headset just past warranty by any chance?

I just got my G430 yesterday.... The mic is crappy but i use an external mic because i had these headphones before so i was prepared... last time i had the g430, i didnt have any problems with the sound balance as what i can remember but i just woke up and turned on my pc to find out its very unbalanced and ive tried to balance it but its just horrible...

Any help?

So it did work at first?

Try another set of headphones to see if the balance works. Try the "new" G430s on another device. See if the problem follows the headphones or stays with the host computer.

Perhaps the drivers were somehow corrupted. Reinstall and see if that will help.
