I've got a new 4K tv and am trying to hook the surround sound up for the online content. It works fine for our cable but if we try and use Netflix or HBO go we still get the sound from the cable box and not what's actually on the tv.

We just recently had the same problem. The rub comes from analog vs. digital we are told at Best buy where we bought our sony and there is no really good fix. The HDMI converters are not the answer we were told, we just have an outdated sound system. I bought a 3.5 mm Mini-to-RCA stereo audio cable that is placed into the headphone jack and then in the bose system in the TV jacks. A $10 fix. Works OK, not exactly the same quality but definitely acceptable for stereo only, not surround sound. This will be what we use until the Bose bites the dust

Are there any other fixes for this? My old Bose surround sound has an optical and RCA ports, but the tv only has optical and HDMI. The optical to optical is not working. I will try the 3.5 mm Mini to RCA, but wondering if there is any other way. Thank you!
