Hey, I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop through three different ways (CPU, GPU and Ram), What do you think?

Here's the laptop's info:

Dell XPS 1502x
1) i5 2520M series (Sandy Bridge)
2) 2x4GB Ram DDR3 1333Mhz
3) NVidia GT 530 2GB
Windows 10 64

Here's how I'm going to upgrade each part:

1) Replace the current processor with a new Intel Core i7 3820 (3.60GHz, 10MB Cache, Socket 2011, 130W, Sandy Bridge)-I think this is compatible, but still unsure

2) Swap out the old Ram with Corsair 2x8GB 1333mhz ddr3 ram

3) Using this adaptor, replace my wifi's PCIe x1 slot with a pcie x16 slot (8GB/s) outside of the case, in which I will use a Palit JetStream GTX 770 4GB. Also using a external power source as it's outside the laptop caseing, maybe a 600W with a separate mini-pc case for the card and power. This will be connected to an external monitor to utilise the extra gaming power.

The point of doing this is to have more power and use the laptop for heavy-end gaming and development, eventhough it'll require 2 power inputs to function and will sacrifice the portability with the graphics card adaptor.

Solution
CPU would work, could even get i7-2860QM but that would be really expensive. According to Dell the max ram on this laptop is 8gb, but some people are saying they've tried it with 16gb and it has worked, trust the people or dell, up to you. No your gpu is mxm meaning not replaceable so your only option is to try with an external.

1) Won't work, your i5 is 32nm and different socket than the 3820qm. Best you could get is something like 2670QM
2) Are you trying to put desktop ddr3 ram in a laptop? Won't work
3) Your motherboard can't handle this GPU to its full potential, the things you are doing are risky (with the external psu and all) and most likely won't work

1) Thanks for the cpu information, i'll get the i7 2670qm instead
2) This was misunderstood, i'm using mobile ram (not desktop), with the same physical size as my current ram that's installed
3) I'm unsure that you can actually replace the GT 530m graphics currently installed, so the external gpu is worth a try, if this is a success, than i'll be using a high-end graphics in a budget laptop.

Ram upgrade in laptops is generally quite easy, just keep in mind laptops require SODIMM.
CPU upgrade is a bit harder. The main concern is TDP and compatibility with BIOS, generally i would suggest reading specific model service manual to find out which CPU model was the highest possible on for this specific laptop model to minimize the risk of incompatibility.
GPU upgrade is only possible on laptops which has MXM slot which is a rare thing, MiniPCie is not for GPUs but rather networking cards like Wifi, modem, etc. It is a discrete GPU but it doesn't mean it's swapable, it's hard soldered to the mobo.
