I'm using a Asus A455L Model Laptop currently with 4GB of Ram 1TB HDD GeForce 920m. I hate the fact it slows down every now and then especially during some casual gaming like hearthstone after an hour everything in the game begins stuttering bit by bit. I wanted something much more reliable as in not a gaming laptop but a multimedia environment one which i can use on day to day basis without a hassle such as writing work docs, casual gaming, surfing the net, watching youtube. So I narrow down to these 2 decisions where i either get the lenovo or the dell xps 13 (which i sitll have to save up for)

Advice please guys if u have more options however do take note that I'm not a HP/Acer Fan

I think that the dell xps 13 is your best option here. Because it can handle college uses which needs way more power than just browsing the web. If it can handle what a college student/casual gamer does, then it can definetly fit your needs. The xps 13 is also light weight and very portable with a weight of around 1.5 kg and it has over 10-15 hours of battery life. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.

Those laptops target different users. If you want something small, light and portable, then the Dell XPS 13 is the one to get. It is about the size of a typical 11.6" laptop due to the Infinity Display. The XPS line is Dell premium consumer laptop so it should have very good / excellent build quality. The Intel HD 520 integrated graphics core has pretty decent performance for what it is. You can use it to play games as long as your expectations are relatively low.

The Yoga 500 is a good mid-range convertible laptop, but a 15.6" tablet is rather bulky. Build quality should be decent. The 940m is a lot more powerful than the Intel HD 520 graphics core, but it not considered a powerful dedicated GPU compared to what are found in other laptops. The laptop is more capable of playing games, but it is less portable.
