Hi all,

I just bought the Pioneer VSX-90 AV receiver for my living room. I have an Apple TV 4th Gen and Roku 3 attached to BD and DVD inputs, and the MAIN HDMI Out to an 4k LED TV (LG UF7700) also pretty new.

I am getting NO video signal on my LG TV from Apple TV and Roku. I can see the OSD though and menu, the Internet Music thing, Spotify and Pandora all shows up on the TV but not the sources that are on HDMI 1-6 (tried all inputs). The video signal however works on the other HDMI output i.e.. HDZONE. But I can’t switch inputs on HDZONE nor can I do ARC. I have tried to switch ON/OFF ARC and CEC on both, the TV and AVR, no go. I have also swapped two units from Best Buy so it’s not defective. I've reset all settings on TV and the AVR twice but again no video out from MAIN (HDMI OUT 1).

I am in LOVE with this AVR, the music sounds amazing and I want to keep it, so can anyone please advise on the video out signal issue? I have only a few more days till I can return and get a different AVR.

Thanks

On most surround sound receivers you have to assign the HDMI connections (like HDMI 1) on the back to an input (such as DVD or TV). If you don't you won't get picture or sound from external sources unless the defaults happen to be correct for your hookup. Check the input set up menu.
You get video from the receivers set up menus so that connection is OK. You get sound from the internal receiver sources so the speakers work.

I'm having the exact same issue with the same receiver. Audio sounds great, but video just stopped working (HDMI1 video output is non-existent). Did you ever get it working?

I was having this issue until I almost decided to return the receiver, but I tried a different HDMI input on my tv and it works perfectly now.
