I'm new here, if there was such thread then I'm sorry but I need help.
So I dropped my laptop about an hour ago from my bed so about half meter. It doesn't close properly because something on the outside is broken but I don't think that's the matter. I can turn it on, it says HP and it's loading. Then it shows my star screen so I click on it and then is shows my avatar and account name. I have to write my password but when I do then the place for password disappears as it was loading. But it takes me back to my star screen and it's like that on and on. I can't access the inside. Just the password screen. What's wrong?

Reseat the laptop hard drive, if that does not work you very likely have damaged something on the hard drive, either physically or the file system. To get to your files, you can create a Linux Live boot disk (I like to use Ubuntu) but there are plenty of others, and copy your data out to an external drive. Then you can run a Repair setup of Windows on the system. You may also have a recovery partition on the system where you can do a factory restore (wipe disk, install system like it was new). Keep in mind that any of that would only work properly if the hard drive was not physically damaged. If it was damaged, you need to get a new hard drive and install Windows on that.
Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving that issue.
- Do a hard reset first, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try logging in once loaded.
- If it doesn't load or login properly I would suggest trying it in Safe Mode.
- While your laptop is booting up repeatedly press on F8 until it load Advanced Boot Options, select Safe Mode and press Enter.
- If it won't login still in Safe Mode the problem lies in the motherboard of your laptop since it may had been damaged due to the fall.
- For more inquiries about the password related concern of your laptop I would suggest contacting the manufacturer of the laptop.
