Solution
Get a player that will work with MKV files. Roku can do it, although not sure abut 3D support https://support.roku.com/hc/en-us/articles/208754908-Roku-Media-Player-Playing-your-personal-videos-music-photos. Using a computer connected to the TV should also work, providing the player supports 3D. I don't deal with any 3D movies so can't recommend a player to use.

Hi There, There are a lot of benefits to having a full 3D movie in mkv, by full 3D I do not mean SBS but frame packed 3D (separate streams for the left and right eye). The issue is finding players that support this. If you have used MakeMKV to make your 3D mkv then the options are as follows:
1) Buy the Mede8er 1000X3D (this is the only player I have found which fully supports this file type)
2) build an HTPC with Kodi and Stereoscopic Player to handle the 3D movies.
3_ Buy a raspberry pi2 since this works with Kodi, but don't expect DTS-HD sound.

Once you make the above choice you will be rewarded with smaller file sizes than full iso's with full 3D HD quality. I keep a look out for other devices that support this file type as I believe it is the future of 3D in single file format. However so far even PowerDVD does not support the mvc embedded in mkvs.

Kodi - Google kodi. Download for type of pc u have (3 minutes). Click run. In kodi, click on movies, add files, select folder of your 3D mkv files, click add to library as movies. And play. It will download covers automatically. You just need a computer or laptop and an hdmi cable to go to your tv. You can buy a remote control for 10$ for it and you won't even know it's a pc. Kodi is by far the best thing that's ever happened to tv. Bluray, Apple TV, plex, rocu, they are all dead. Just a tv. A computer. HDMI chord. And you are totally set. You can do so much more than that with kodi (like streaming free tv, all movies and shows, Sirius , music. YouTube. Everything. And it's completely free.
