Speakers not working.

Getting home after work, the misses informed me that the laptop no longer has sound. Checked everything I could in my low knowledge of computers/laptops, everything shows that the device is working just fine, but still no sounds. When putting in headphones the sound works, pop them out and nothing again. I am using a acer e1 series z5we1, would be thankful for some help

It is possible that the headphone jack has stuck (or broken) which is interrupting the speakers. I don't know a simple fix if that is the problem.

Well, I do not know what I did, or if some dust was stick inside the laptop, or the jack switch acted up, but I just pulled out the headphones and the sound came back on... the irony. Now to find out how to close the thread..

It probably WAS the headphone jack stuck "thinking" there was still headphones inserted. Another jostle by an insert and removal closed the switch and the speakers started working. It may happen again....
