I got my laptop 5 years ago ,for work and some "old" games like call of duty 4.
It's a Fujitsu Lifebook Ah530Gfx
The specs are:
CPU: Intel Pentium P6000
GPU: Ati Radeon HD 4650
RAM :3GB
HDD: 300GB which died and i purchased a wd black and that one died and now i got an ssd ocz arc 120GB (hopefully that one doesn't die)
I could play, work and watch 1080p movies with no problem at all.But now i see that the cpu usage is constantly at 80-100 % when i try to do something that i used to do without problem .1080p Movies lag, games lag and even programs are slow it's unbearable.
I ran a scan with latest Malwarebytes and avast but still nothing. No viruses at all!
The Problem started the summer of 2015. Ohh and i changed my thermal paste 2 times because the temps where 60 Celcius idle for gpu and 65 for the cpu. Now they are completely normal after the arctic mx-2. 47 Celcius for gpu and 50 for the cpu
And i can hear all the cpu load to the headphones.I think my CPU dies slowly..?
What should i do?

If you are seeing high CPU usage with nothing running, maybe a virus or something else messing things up. Not likely a hardware issue since things look to run OK for a while then stop. I'm guessing something you are installing it making it do that. Also you should turn on Windows updates, that is how security patches are sent out.

Try a clean Windows setup again with all drivers (chipset, video, audio, power, network, BIOS update) and see if it runs OK then. You may also want to check on the RAM, 3 gig is a bit of an odd (literally) number, replace the 1 gig stick with another 2 gig one, should be cheap to test that.

The cpu frequency is 1.87Ghz no turbo boost or anything. Even if the temperature rises it stays at 1.87Ghz . The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium that came in a dvd with the laptop. As i said I could watch 1080p movies and sometimes play games on 1080p if i connected my tv via hdmi.

Yeah, surely the components are outdated for 2016 , but why do i get lower framerates at a game that hasn't been updated since 2008 (call of duty 4). Laptops are not for gaming for sure but it's the one that i have for now and i need to keep it alive until i save up money for a gaming rig.
Thanks for your response anyway.

He already replaced it and he checked clocks so no throttling, no overheating. The cpu usage is the main symptom. What does task manager say is using it? Keep an eye on temps and clocks while doing so. Did you use ddu and try to reinstall the gpu drivers? Do you remember anything that you did around when the issue started like installing or updating anything?

Task Manager doesn't show anything suspicious. The problem is that the cpu is stressed very easily with normal tasks. I don't think reinstalling the gpu driver would help me.I made a new clean install on windows on May 2015 the time i purchased the SSD everything was running fast with no problem whatsoever. The summer, i was on vocation for 2 months (July-August) and i didn't use it as much as i do (i had no Internet there). Problem started on September and i realized it the time i installed cod5 (retail dvd) to play with my friends after a long time. The game stuttered a lot with max fps around 70.I reinstalled it just to see if the problem was temporary but still , same fps.Checked the cpu usage and i realized that was the problem.I can't even play 1080p videos on youtube anymore .Not even 720p60 without any lag ( I mean WTF my phone can handle 1080p60). Ohh and i have Windows Update off so nothing can auto update.I have also referred to the sound i hear on my headphones or speakers (CPU interference) What about that?

Doesn't hurt to try and no way to know it's not the issue unless you try. Those should be gpu accelerated so a gpu driver issue can cause cpu usage issues. The sound could be other interference, audio port going bad, or other issues but it's too wide of a range of possible causes to know if the issue is related. For now I'm going on software causes before hardware since you can't do much in that aspect. It could have been something related to the cod install. You'd want to reinstall dx, .net, c++ redist or anything else it could have installed when installing the game.

Well i tried uninstalling the gpu driver (ddu) and reinstalling it again , i installed cod 5 again just to see if there's any difference , not at all ( i even tried to install the dx and other c++ manually). Checked to see if there is any difference in video playback but still nothing. Youtube (now html5) videos use only the cpu (about 85-100% usage) for the playback and my gpu idles at 3%. I tried switching to other browsers ,turning the hardware acceleration off (this made it worse) .Not a slight improvement. I don't want to spent money on this laptop (for new cpu or anything else) i'm saving up for a good desktop. It's pointless to do anything. Anyway a big thanks to anyone who wrote on this thread .
