Hello folks,

After bargain hunting for the last 3 hours, I'm stumped.

(I draw digitally in Photoshop using a graphics tablet.)

Long story short, I'm looking for a laptop with decent processing power and display for Photoshop. Since Photoshop (from what I briefly glanced across) doesn't utilise the GPU, it isn't a huge deal to me.
This laptop is only intended to be used for work, compared to the later desktop I plan to buy for gaming.

A 15" 1920x1080p laptop is a huge preference in this case, I'm willing to make sacrifices as I have a desktop setup already with a 21" monitor (if it's possible to hook a laptop up with a VGA, I'm not sure.)
Hopefully finding a laptop with 4GB+ RAM and an i5/i7 is a little easier. Though, i7 is likely overkill for illustration Photoshop nonetheless (my current quad i3 goes along quite smoothly.)

I've come across a couple of decent refurbished laptops with 1920x1080 resolution and an i7, sadly none of them ship to the UK.

Generally, 15"/1080p/4GB+ RAM/i5/i7 are my tick boxes. Any suggestions found filling any of these are very much appreciated, and anything extra or insight is welcomed (I'm not too educated over computer parts and their prices.)

Willing to stretch the budget to £500+ if necessary. Will be buying in the next month or so.

Any questions and I'll reply asap.

Thank you very much!

I've already bought a Windows 7 disk beforehand, so the OS isn't necessary, saving me about £80 purchasing it pre-installed.
Got the 940m as it comes with it, and I may as well do some lightweight gaming during the meantime I save up for my desktop.
Also has a VGA port, so I'm happy with that.

Any suggestions are welcome still! Will be ordering mid February.

Thanks!

I did not look at your build before I did one myself. I was surprised when I put together the same exact laptop with the same specs.

i5 is a good choice and I wouldn't go with a better CPU as the i5 is already stretching the budget. i3 is still good though so if you want to save a bit, you can go with i3. What are the CPU choices?

Offers either a 940m or 950m. £603 with the 950m, £548 with the 940m.

Made a little more browsing today at the £500+ price range and found this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-Inspiron-i7559-763BLK-Full-HD-Keyboard/dp/B015PYYDMQ/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8. It has a $799 price tag on Amazon.com, which is around £542 - shame it's out of stock and won't ship to the UK. Though, looking at all the negative reviews it does seem to have an assortment of problems for its competitive price.

Not 100% sure what I'm going with yet, but I'm fine with a laptop around £550 at this point, might as well get something worthwhile. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Will edit if I find anything in the meantime.
It's frustrating to see desktops run anything at high settings on this price range. Beginning to wish I could just buy a desktop and be done with it, though I still feel a portable workstation may be necessary for my classes in college/university, etc. :|
