My laptop won't boot after cleaning it. I decided to clean my Acer v3-571g. Everything was fine, I cleaned out the dust off the fan, put it all back together, booted it up, everything was working flawlessly... Then I had some leftover bolts which I didn't screw in yet. So I decided to do that. After I screwed all the bolts in, the laptop didn't boot up. I press the power button, the button lights up, I can hear the fan working, the HDD light is on for a couple of seconds and then boom. HDD light is off, the fan is still spinning slowly but that's it. I redisassemblied the laptop, put it all back again and the problem persists. I tried booting it with, without battery , I tried everything. Every time I get totally no response from the screen... Can somebody help me please? I'm being really desperate right now as its still a pretty strong laptop and I don't want to replace the motherboard or something...

Hi,

First while it's on and you can hear the fans spinning indicating it's on, connect an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it because if you do that means that the ribbon cable that connects the display to the motherboard is loose but if there's still no display on it that means you'll have to open the laptop again and inspect all the connection to make sure that everything it seated properly.

Sounds more like you have put the wrong screws in the wrong holes. If the laptop worked flawlessly before you put the last set of screws in, and failed after putting them in, then logic should dictate the problem is the last set of screws installed. Chances are pretty good one, or more, are in too deep and are contacting something electronic and shorting something out. Take the screws back out and see if that solves the issue. However, that may not work as the damage may have already been done.
