I've noticed that my laptop has been quiet recently. Turns out the cooling fan stopped spinning. I figured that it's been more than a year since I first got the laptop so I cleaned it and even replaced the thermal paste.

After that it was working again but a day later, I turn on my laptop and the fan won't spin. Pressing the TurboFan thing on the keyboard isn't doing anything either. I tried opening it again and cleaned just the fan but this time it really won't work. I'm not sure if it's the fan or if it's software related. I tried looking it up if there's any software fix that I can try but I couldn't find any.

My laptop can't even detect my fan anymore. SpeedFan and Afterburner or any other programs won't detect it! Anyone know what should I do here? I'm totally at a loss, this is my only computer, the warranty is up and I live in a very rural area where there are no repair shops :(

UPDATE: So I did something pretty dumb or pretty smart. I opened my laptop's under panel while it was running and tried to spin the fan towards to whatever direction it was suppose to be spinning to. What did ya know it worked! So should I replace the fan or does it just need more cleaning?
