I bought a new laptop and it has Intel (R) HD 520 graphics and AMD Radeon R7 M30 graphics, and I am pretty sure it is using the intel graphics card as for 3 reasons:
1. I watched videos of this graphics card on different games and they looks GOOD whereas when I go on them games that were in the videos I lag a lot!
2. When I play minecraft it says when you press F3 it says in the top right corner
' Graphics display:
1902 x 1202
Intel (R) HD 520 graphics'
3. I have read forums and stuff and they say if you havent changed which graphics card your pc/laptop is using then it will be the Intel Graphics

I have watched videos on how to change it and they say right click on your desktop and click graphics properties and then they say click on switchable graphics or something like that but when I right click the desktop it only says 'AMD Radeon Settings' and when i click that it doesnt give me an option of changing which graphics card my laptop is using or anything else like that?

Please help, I really miss gaming WITH fps! Thank you so much!

Hi Calum.

Did you ever find a solution for this? i have exactly the same issue with my M265 dedicated GPU. I do not have the "Configure switchable graphics" options from the desktop. Under the system tab in the AMD Radeon settings UI, it shows "Hardware AMD R7 M265 series (disabled). I've tried ever driver version known to man and am getting so fed up with my crappy FPS through the integrated graphics. It's so frustrating how my GPU is there and i paid for it but it's not being used (this has been confirmed via the AMD system monitor. This is definitely the first and last time that i ever buy and AMD products. Never had any such hassel Nvidia and Intel.

Many thanks,

Ben

I'm having the same issue and no one has a solution to it I just bought a Dell - Inspiron 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - AMD FX - 16GB Memory - AMD Radeon R7 M445 - 1TB Hard Drive - Matte gray and it's trying to run games using the primary integrated grapgics which has only 512mb while the r7 m445 is a 4gb integrated graphics. I'm literally only getting 10 frames per second on dayz

That documentation is outdated, there is no "Radeon Additional Settings" anymore. Last time i'll buy anything amd related. What's the point of better hardware if you can't figure out a working software.

Getting this problem too.
Tried to play GTA IV, it said in the setting that my graphic memory is approximately 400-500 MB which is my integrated R5 Graphic card, instead of using the R6 one with 2048MB of graphic memory.

Maybe it's good to downgrade the driver to the previous version where the additional settings still exist? (haven't tried iit yet btw)

I am having exactly same problem but with an AMD APU with integrated graphics and a Radeon M260. Games are not using the M260. If I find a solution I will post. Using latest Adrenaline 17.12.1 drivers

I rolled my pc back to Windows 8.1 it was shipped with and also the original AMD drivers recommended by the manufacturer Lenovo on their website. It now uses the M260 but it's not great. Will buy a better pc without an AMD APU next time
