Yup, GoBonzo is right, monitor your temperatures. Use the tool CPUID from CPU-Z, its really good and gives valuable insights.
Ideally you should keep your laptop under 90 degrees Celcius (which in itself is pretty high), try to perform the following:
1) Check your temperatures while gaming.
2) Check if your laptop fans are functioning properly
Laptops shut themselves down to prevent frying the chip when it gets too hot or it might just be an OS issue, Windows 10 developer preview is notorious for app crash and shut downs frequently.
