Hi

I bought LG 5.1 surround system. It has 1200W RMS 5.1-channels, dvd player with 3d and so on. The problem is that the dvdplayer, that also function as a receiver for the system is broken. I dont want to throw the speakers because they are good, how can I get them to work again? How can I connect them to a new receiver/ computer or something.

I feel they must be thrown because it looked like it had special connectors designed for that dvd-player.

the system looks like this:

Thanks for help.

It almost looks like this in the video down below.

an image of the connector or a model number would hve been helpful.

in any case speakers all function in the same way.. if there is a special connector it is fulfilling the same task as regular speaker wire so converting to speaker wire should not be an issue.

now the problem exists in what impedance the speakers are rated at (ohms) as not all receivers may be rated to work with low impedance speakers. read through this http://www.hometheaterforum.com/topic/294194-connecting-old-htib-speakers-to-new-receiver/ for an idea of what i'm talking about.
