Good anti-malware + antivirus combo?

On my newly built PC I want to go ahead and get some antimalware/antivirus software just to be safe. I highly doubt I'll ever run into any issues as the truly best protection is common sense. I never visit any sites or download anything I don't trust. It has worked with me for years. But I still want to get some software just for that extra protection anyways. I was thinking about buying Malwarebytes premium. I like all of its features. I was also considering downloading Avast free version. I am mainly concerned about drive-by downloads. Is this a good combination or is there a reason for me to buy Avast premium? Those extra features didn't really seem all too necessary. Any help would be appreciated.

Does Avast free protect against drive-by downloads? And also do you have any experience with Malwarebytes anti-exploit free/premium?

Avast premium is literally the same thing. I know, I paid. Try Bitdefender as a cheap and really good paid option.
