Hi,
about half of a year ago my Razer Kraken 7.1 surround sound headset broke after having them for almost a year and a half, they broke after I tripped over the cable therefore breaking the USB connector in half from the force, I am wondering if it would work to splice or solder the cable onto a new USB or USB from something else to fix it.

Thanks!

It most likely would, but the trick would be knowing which wire goes to what pin on the USB connector.
There's a good chance you wouldn't see a similar colour scheme for the wiring.
You can either split open the USB connector to see where wires go, and/or use a multi-meter to check conductivity from a coloured wire to whatever pin it's connected to.

Would following a wire confirguration for a standard 7.1 channel headset most likely work?

Does it help that the colours of the wires are red, black, green and white?

On which USB are you seeing those colours?
If thats the headset wiring, then find a USB end from something else
that you don't care about and check it's colour scheme.
Look at this Google results page (should be lots of images). Red, black, white, and green
are standard colours, but not all companies follow same pin choices. Using an OHM/multimeter
is still the surest way to know which wire is going to which pin
