Hi,

Recently my laptop has met with an issue that is troubling. Both my laptop's keyboard and external keyboard do not work. My laptop runs Windows 8.

When I click "Q" and "W", a search feature appears, but no alphabets are typed. When I click " R", a run program appears and when I click "D", the current tab I have closers.

This program also appears in other keys.

How do I fix it? The problem only appeared after I plugged in my external keyboard.

Thanks.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in resolving the issue.
- Check keyboard language settings.
- Open Control Panel and look for Region and Language.
- Check all tabs if they are all set to United States.
- If that doesn't work, try pressing those following keys which are not working using your onscreen keyboard (Ease of Access look for Onscreen keyboard)
- Connect an external keyboard and see if the same problem will persist because if does you may need to consider on doing a complete Factory Reset cause it's a problem with your operating system.
- If all these will not work I would suggest replacing the keyboard itself.
