Hi, can someone tell me please how to reset the CMOS on this Notebook?
I changed some Settings in the BIOS and now it doesn't start anymore.

I would be really happy if someone could help me solve this problem.

Hi,

There's one way how to reset the CMOS or BIOS if you can't access it. Open your laptop and look for the CMOS battery. It's a flat circular silver battery, just take it off for couple of seconds then put it back in. Hopefully this will work for you.

If these will not work do try these troubleshooting steps.
- Do a hard reset first, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try to boot the laptop.
- Next is to test the AC adapter and see if it's supplying enough voltage or better yet try another AC adapter that has the same voltage.
- If there are lights on the laptop indicating that it's on connect and external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it and if you do press the Windows key + P at the same time and select Display Only then press Enter.
- If that will not solve the problem do reseat the RAM, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure that they are seated properly into each slot.
- If all these will not work you may need to contact Asus support for a repair if it's still under the factory warranty.

Hi, thanks for your tipps :)

I knew that removing the battery is a solution to reset the CMOS. But I was more interested in doing it without disassembling this notebook. Someone in another forum mentioned to shortcut connections underneath the ramslots for a short time but it didn't help. I found there CLRP1 und CLRP 2 connections and I googled after their meanings. It seems they are for the passwordreset in the BIOS if I understand it right.

But they won't reset the CMOS, am I right?

I know that I could do this, but my problem is more that I got only a blackscreen where I can't do anything. I can't get into the BIOS :(
