I've got a Macbook Pro, not really sure what year/size since it was a gift from around a year ago. About a week ago, it randomly shut off. Since then, it's only turned on once, at first it would turn on, all LED's would be on but no screen video. Then it stopped, only the fans would run. Now, it doesn't even turn on. If I take out the charger, hold for 10 seconds, plug the charger in, hold another ten seconds then press power button, the fan would start spinning quite fast but nothing else happens. I use this MacBook for school and I really need a way to fix it because I can't afford to buy a laptop. Thanks!

Solution
It sounds like your fix could be as simple as resetting the SMC. Try following the instructions for your device here: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT201295

Since you seem uncertain about the specifics of your device, make sure you read the descriptions well to determine which category your Macbook fits into before attempting the reset.

If that doesn't work you can also try the NVRAM using these instructions: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204063

Good luck!
