Hey! So I'm a prospective computer animation student going into university next year and have been looking into a new laptop, since I've had my current one for nearly five years now. I've found the two below and have been comparing them, but I'd like an outside opinion. Other than regular internet browsing, this new laptop would be used mainly for animation and gaming. These are the two I was comparing:

Toshiba:

Really the major reason I was considering the Toshiba is because of the longer warranty on it, and where I am it would be easier to take it in for repairs if something does go wrong instead of having to mail it anywhere. If I did go with this one I would likely upgrade to Windows 10 as well.

Asus:

I obviously prefer this one for the faster processor and better graphics mainly, although I also appreciate the larger amount of RAM and memory storage. Downside is of course the shorter warranty.

Thoughts? If there's a better model you could suggest I would appreciate that as well, my price limit is about $1200. Thanks!

asus, has a better cpu. Quad core vs dual core, im pretty sure

update:
not to mention the asus has a 960M for the mobile GPU, and the toshiba has a 930M.

The asus will be better for gaming, and everything else.
