internal hard drive replacement

i have a problem with my internal hard drive in acer aspire v3 571g. i would like to replace it. it has 750 GB hitachi hard drive. can i replace it with 160 GB of other product? or i have to buy that one only?

Same storage size. It does have to be the same physical 2.5" drive.

Also, 160GB drives, unless they're SSDs, are going to be old and unreliable. If it is a SSD, you have to make sure you have a motherboard that can boot from SSD.
