Will an AT2020 with an XLR connector sound exponentially better than an AT2020 PLUS with a USB connection?

I'm just wanting a new mic for live streaming to upgrade to and I'm not sure what to get. XLR or USB? Is XLR worth it for what I'd be doing? or should I just get the USB and then later upgrade to XLR if need be?

they are the same microphone. the only differences are how you will control them and that via xlr and a mixer you can record at a higher bitrate than with the usb model.

as far as which is best depends on how you will be set up.

xlr and a mixer are the more professional option and give you easy control over gain, volume at your fingertips as well as giving you a headphone jack and other inputs for mixing. depending on equipment, you can also record at a higher bitrate. generally this is what you want if you are really interested in having a decent entry level recording setup.

usb input is more convenient and does not require extra cables or hardware. you will have to control gain and volume through software. if you're looking for something easy to travel with, set up and ultimately cheaper this is what you want. you lose out on some functionality, but gain ease of use.
