Receiver, active subwoofer, connections?

Bought new receiver, Yamaha RX-V679.
Had an old 7.1 system.
Trying to use the active sub from the 7.1 system along with the new receiver.

The amplifier for the sub?? looks like this:

The back of the subwoofer looks like this:

The back of the reciever has two subwoofer outs, the outs are meant for active subwoofers.

How on earth do I connect this active subwoofer to the new receiver??

I've tried so many things..

Can someone please help me?

No you only need 1, but I don't know which 1 (red or white). If you look at the combined end, you see there are two black stripes. The center of the red plug goes to one section and the center of the white goes to a different section. The third section is ground. One of those two sections is associated with the subwoofer channel in the amp. Plug the 3.5mm jack into the amp. Then plug the red RCA into the Yamaha. Now turn on the amp and Yamaha. Does the sub work? If not turn it all OFF and try the white RCA plug.

Next to the speaker terminals on the back of the receiver are two RCA jacks for subwoofer out Connect an RCA cable to the subwoofer out on the receiver and to the sub/center in on the receiver. You will have to get a stereo 3.5mm plug for the input (it looks like) and then one side or the other (I don't know which) will be the subwoofer input.

I updated the picture in the link above, the black line represents the current connection to the amplifier/receiver. The red what I should? do to connect the sub to my new receiver?

No you would use a cable like this (I think) --

That would plug into the sub/center connection adjacent to the on/off switch. The sub would stay connected just like it is.
I don't know if red or white will be the correct color to connect to the sub out on the receiver (where you have the yellow plug in your drawing).
