Did you change anything from factory defaults when you bought the system?
Go into the BIOS and see if there is a hardware check you can run, that will scan the hard drive and show you any errors.

You don't need to change the hard drive type, whatever it was set to at the factory is the one you want set during the restore.

You can try running on one stick of RAM at a time, or try different RAM if you can get a spare stick to try, RAM issues can cause Windows setup errors.

See if you can simply get ACER to send you a restore disk set, should not be more than $30 or so for that if you can't make one yourself, or get a basic Windows OEM disk to use. Any PC repair shop should have a Windows OEM disk you can use, if they don't need to...
Often issues with restoring a system that should work fine is because the hard-drive is going or has gone bad and the system can't read where the restore partition is or write to areas it needs to.

Are you restoring because the computer is not booting properly or for something else? If Windows starts OK, go into the All Programs and look for a utility to make a set of rescue disks, boot off those and run the restore.

Hi, thank you for responding to my delima. The laptop was working prior to me trying to do the factory reset. Reason for reset was it kept telling me I was low on memory and It was running extremely slow. I deleted all I could and moved all my files and documents to a flash drive. Still it was slow therefore I figured just do a reset and it would be like when we purchased it.. Now all it does is loop every 20 seconds. I can get into the bios but nothing will work as I said in original post.. open to any other ideas. Do you still think I might have to replace the hard drive? Thanks again...
