Keyboard will not respond to key strokes. I have windows 10 (installed on July 30, 2015) and everything was fine with the computer and keyboard and it suddenly stopped working. Every key I push...there is an unusual, quiet clicking sound. The Laptop is a dell 1737 (I believe) and has a touch screen. The touchscreen works and I can type on the touch screen with the on screen keyboard. The back lights on the keyboard work fine. Any suggestions? Teri

Solution
Hi,

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help. Just skip some of the steps you've already tried.
- Check keyboard language settings.
- Open Control Panel and look for Region and Language.
- Check all tabs if they are all set to United States.
- If that doesn't work, try pressing those following keys which are not working using your onscreen keyboard (Ease of Access look for Onscreen keyboard)
- Connect an external keyboard and see if the same problem will persist because if does you may need to consider on doing a complete Factory Reset cause it's a problem with your operating system.
- If all these will not work I would suggest replacing the keyboard itself.
