Hi to all,so firstly I would like to apologize for creating this tread again!I only thought that nobody has seen the previous thread I created!Of course I mean that for the laptop tech support section not the win 7 section where I created the thread in wrong section! And because this time I wrote something new which is on the end of this post.

I have a strange problem with my Dell Inspiron 15 3537 running on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit os.
One day I shutted it down via the regular way:start>shut down and after that when I tried to start it and it wouldn't boot.It showed me black screen and only the power light was on,i tried to start it a few times again but it shutted down or showed black screen, only the power light on and fans working.

I somehow managed to boot it and made a format and reinstalled the win thinking that the problem is caused by a virus. It worked well for a few hours then I decided to shut it down, again via the start >shut down and when I tried to start it later the same problem again! Then I somehow managed to start it but this time I got bsod:error stop 0x0000001E and it shutted down for 2 or 3 times. Then I connected it to a LG LCD TV via HDMI and it booted without problem!

I ran dell hardware diagnostics tests from the dell support site which lasted for 8 hours. The laptop worked fine and it passed all the hardware tests. After that I ran dell hardware diagnostics tests from the bios and the results were ok!The hardware passed all of the tests.

Finally I did a startup repair with the Win 7 installation dvd and the repair showed me this : The following startup option will be repaired name: Windows boot manager and etc. and :The following startup options will be added:Windows recovery enviroment etc. After that repair I decided to shut down the laptop via the same way:start>shut down, and when I tried to start it the same problem!Black screen with only power light on and sound of working fans or shutting down for a several time.

What should I do know? Please help me!I want to repair it myself without giving it to a service!Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!Best regards!
p.s I do apologize for my bad English

I found that the laptop works perfectly when it is turned on,the problem is when I shut it down no matter if it is via start>shut down or any way of shutting it down, after the shutting down I need to press the start button for more than 50 times to get it boot successfu?ly.

Pls help me,as soon as you can!!!

Hi,

It seems like a problem with the display of your laptop since you mentioned something about it's working normally when connect with an external monitor.
- Start by doing a hard reset, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then see if it would boot up normally or not.
- If you'll get another black screen with the power light indicators on connect an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it.
- If you'll see a display on it that means that it's the built in display that is faulty. You also mentioned that you have to do several hard reset before you can get the screen to work again. What you can do is to open the laptop and check the connection of the display to the motherboard making sure that it's seated properly to the motherboard.
- Worst case is if it's still under the factory warranty you'll have to send it for a repair to Dell.

I tried to boot the laptop ,connected to the LG Tv but the same problem! This time it gives me a black screen,it shuts down and restarts or only shuts down ,but sometimes it gives a black screen with noise of the fans working and only the power light on (the hdd light off!) I tested all hardware components with Dell diagnostics and there was no problem, all of them passed all of the tests! What should I do now? Is there a way I can repair it without opening it? Pls help me!And what should I do if I somehow manage to boot it?What kind of test can I do?
