Since I upgraded to Windows 10 the antivirus I used to use ( avast!) is to slow on Windows 10 and causes Glitches. Anyone can recommend a better one? (No avg is worse) and it has to be free. (Please don't recommend bitdefender or avg, because I refuse to use them)

Free antivirus applications aren’t what they used to be. Free antivirus companies are now bundling adware, spyware, toolbars, and other junk to make a quick buck.

Also forgot to mention that me and my friends send files to each other a lot, such as recordings that we captured of hackers on minecraft, etc so we can ban them. But anyway the problem with that is sometimes the files he sends have viruses, and he is unwilling to get an antivirus, insisting it will slow down his pc. But anyway multiple times avast! has caught a virus the second it went through Skype, I need the antivirus to beable to do that.

Any other suggestions? All suggestions welcome (accept bitdefender, I have had a bad experience with them!!!) I'll even be willing to try avg again if you can explain why it will work and meet all my requirements.

AVG has gotten better in the past few years about keeping their virus-definitions available and current. I know some peopel that use it.

Out of the list I am about to link, I would recommend Comodo, as I have used it in the past and it provides great protection.

That's an article by MaximumPC - a magazine that I have been reading for years and have come to trust.

First of all I would uninstall AVAST using Revo Uninstaller (use advanced removal to get all registry entries). After it is uninstalled restart your PC and install the latest version of AVAST.

The reason I suggest this is that upgrading to Windows 10 is causing a conflict between your installed AV and Windows own AV (not always but lots of reports of this). The solution in many cases is what I suggested above.

If that does not work I suggest Avira as it has great detection rate, although the UI is not as nice as Avasts.
