Recently took advantage of some deals online for three laptops. All cost about the same. Here is my issue, kind of just bought without good research and kind of need help gifting them to my kids.

Please if you could list each computer for each kids need so I don't gift the computers wrong that would be great.

Kid 1 (18 yo): messes with graphic design, steam games (counter strike, mine craft)

Kid 2 (16 yo): gaming (skyrim, wow, Minecraft)

Kid 3 (15 yo): social

Laptop 1

- HP 15-G012DX 15.6" Laptop PC - AMD Quad-Core A8 / 4GB Memory / 750GB HD / DVD±RW/CD-RW / HD Webcam / Windows 8.1 64-bit

Laptop 2

- Toshiba Satellite C55D 15.6-inch Laptop - AMD Quad-Core A8-6410, 4GB DDR3L, 1TB HDD, 1366 x 768 HD Display, DVD±RW/CD-RW, Webcam, HDMI, Windows 8.1 64-bit free upgrade to Windows 10

Laptop 3

- Toshiba Satellite C55D-B5160 Laptop Notebook Windows 8 - - 4GB RAM - 500GB HD - 15.6 inch display

My thoughts are:

Kid 1 - Laptop 1
Kid 2 - Laptop 2
Kid 3 - Laptop 3

Correct?

Solution
All three laptops are relatively weak. #3 is definitely the weakest of them all since it only has a dual core E1-6010 clocked at 1.35GHz. Laptops #1 & #2 are virtually the same since they both have the A8-6410 APU.

So... yes, that is the right way to gift them.

OK thanks. Honestly, I wasn't swinging for a home run. The oldest two are old enough to work and if they want better they can get jobs and work towards it. Just tired of the teenagers bickering over who gets to get on the computer when.

Okay, I suppose for what you spent you got decent deals. Just be aware that the A8-6410 is an entry level quad core CPU that is considered to be pretty weak.

The least expensive laptop that I know of which is suitable for everyday use and good enough to play games on low settings is the following Asus laptop for $350 which has a Core i3-5010u and the Intel HD 5500 graphics core which will definitely be more powerful than what the A8-6410 has. It also comes with a 1080p screen, but the the Intel HD 5500 will not really be able to handle games at 1080p with the exception of League of Legends and Minecraft with the OPtifine mod to the best of my knowledge.
