Hi guys,
I came home from a quick run to the store and sat down at my laptop. I used it for a few minutes and remembered that the HDMI cable I normally have connected to my PC to extend my desktop to my TV. When I plugged the HDMI in, it turned my PC off. The screen flickered and went out. My PC will not turn back on. The blue status light comes on for about 2 seconds and then goes right back off. Could this be a possible short? :( Any help with this would be great.

I have tried:
Removing the battery and charger to drain the power.
I have tried just using the charger to turn it back on

Computer Specs:
Acer E5-571
6gb RAM
1TB HDD
using onboard graphics card.

Please help :(

Hi,

Another step you can try is to reseat the RAM, take them all off for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure they are seated properly into each slot. If these will not work try another AC adapter first and see if it will boot up normally. If all these will not work it's a case of a short circuit inside the motherboard.
