So I had the Razer Tiamat 7.1 for about two years. I sent them back since I had the warrenty and they gave me a $130 gift card to Newegg since that's what I payed for them exactly two years ago, now I need to decide if I want to buy the Tiamats again, or something new. I was looking at the SteelSeries H Circumaural Wireless Headset ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826249121&cm_re=steelseries-_-26-249-121-_-Product ) and they look good, but they're very expensive, even with the giftcard, and have heard that the microphone included in them isn't great. Any suggestions on what to get? My price range would be a max of $300.

Logitech has good wireless headsets if your into that, but be aware of software issues. http://www.head-fi.org has great reviews on gaming headsets. Personally I own a high rated one (4.5/5 stars). It is the Sennheiser Game Zero headset. It has the best of business in terms of mic quality and I love it. The closed ear design allows me to focus and not be distracted to others and if your PC is noisy it should drown that out too. The 2 drawbacks are it has a 150 ohm impedance which means to get the full experience you need to purchase a AMP to give it more juice/power. The other drawback is that it is a stereo headset. I am not bothered by this because its really not that much of a difference to my ears from stereo to 5.1. I can notice...

I can notice it, but it doesn't bother me and I still sometimes look behind myself when hearing some sounds XD. The ear cups are giant and fit any ear. This headset will also fit any head large or small. If your into nice audio Sennheiser has also been a killer option. If you want open back then the Game One might suit you well as it is almost the same without impedance. If your a stickler for 7.1 just download Razer surround for virtual 7.1 sound. Whatever you buy, please do not buy Astro products. I had a Astro A50 and regret buying it from numerous problems and horrible technical support. Plus if you buy the Sennheiser headset, it supports literally every console, PC, and or mac!

Looking at reviews will help you a lot, but some audio is just personal preference. Just make sure you do your research and head-phi is a great place to start! Also don't forget you can get 5% off any purchase over 100$ on newegg with the black friday promo code. mblnov2715. Make sure you change the 27 to the date it is like tomorrow the 28th will be mblnov2815. Also i suspect they will stop the deal on monday so act fast!
