Speaker synced leds not working

Hi. I tried to solder some leds on my speakers positive and negative to make it pump to the beat, but nothing happens. I tried it both ways, but not a thing

Because the voice coil in the speaker effectively shorts out the LED. You would need to create an LED driver circuit that could be tied into the audio signal. It would have a separate power supply.
