Looking for a good gaming Head Set

i'm looking to buy a gaming headset, I did some research and thought that razer kraken 7.1 would be good because it has a mic noise cancellation. do you guys have any suggestion for me on any other gaming headset brand that have the same or maybe lower price range then the kraken 7.1?

btw, do i need to buy a sound card to enjoy the 7.1 surround headset feature ?

You can get 7.1 sound out of USB but it's through simulation software. So if you're super picky about audio then yes you would need a sound card. I personally have tried both and while the Sound Card + good headset combo is nice... to get it to truly outperform the USB and simulated surround sound software costs upwards of 400$ and my pockets aren't that deep. The Kraken 7.1 is a nice choice! Do you have large ears though? I have large ears and returned that headset because it would rest on the top cartilage and cause pain.
