Looking for small, portable laptop. So far Lenovo Thinkpad 11e is my top choice.

My most recent laptop died on my. Was an i5-3317U Acer Aspire which ran great, but was very thin and not very durable at all. Ended up getting a cracked screen from airplane travel which I replaced, but recently it died although I managed to salvage the HDD and get my data off it.

I have a beefy gaming desktop so I am only looking for something portable (smallish) and durable. Was looking around at some BF deals and came across the Lenovo Thinkpad 11e for $200 after rebate.

Seems to fit my needs exactly although I haven't been in the market for a laptop in a few years and don't know if it is a good value or not. Also can't find many reviews on the specific model. Non yoga model with AMD cpu, not intel. Seems to be the "newer" version.

Some notes: Can be seen a positives or negatives in some cases (i.e. durability desgn)
- AMD A4-6210 (seems to have pretty good performance compared to other intel cpus in the lower end range). Better performance than Intel version of 11e (intel N2940).
- Only supports 4GB ram, cannot upgrade past that. Intel version can go to 8gb.
- 500gb 7200rpm HDD
- Designed for students/education so it has features aimed at that market. Anchored key caps, thick bezel ("protecting LCD"), rubber bumper (seems stupid, but for a portable laptop this seems appealing)
- 11.6" screen, but 11.81" x 8.5" (14.55" diag) size. So even though small screen it is a bit larger than other 11.6" laptops/chrombooks (0.5-1" diag)

Any opinions on small laptops in this price range $150-250? Anyone use one for an extended period of time? Or on the Lenovo 11e specifically?

Enough or a good value? If there are other options in the price range I'd be all ears.

OK. I'm only skeptical due to the amd cpu. I've liked the laptop intel cpus I've had, but never owned one with an amd cpu. Heard some horror stories about a4 chips, but also that people love them. Benchmarks seem to show it performs quite well when put up against other intel chips at the price point.

Right now this is at the top of my list this BF. Rebate goes until Dec 3rd so I can see if any better deals pop up for laptops at this size. Shame that most laptops at 11.6 are chromebooks with limited storage. I want at least 250gb on a portable laptop, even if it is esigned to me small.
