ok so my uncle found an old ibm thinkpad at the local swap meet and bought it for me for 5 dollars working because he knows im into vintage computers. it came with a penium 3 processor 256 megs of ram and a cdrom drive the seller told my uncle the hard drive was formatted before being sold. so heres my question

if i decide to install windows 3.1 on the laptop just for fun would the laptop and the windows 3.1 os recognize a usb floppy drive since the laptop has no floppy just a cd drive or am i better off getting a floppy drive to replace the cdrom in the drive bay? seller also included loads of games on floppys and the like? he also threw in a complete boxed 3.1 install with all the floppy disks?

so what do i need to get this working

windows 95 b was the first windows to support USB 1.0
not sure there are drivers capable of supporting pentium 3 for windows 3.1 that didn't require paid support thru microsoft way back in 2001.
3.1 supported cd roms you would be better off burning all the floppies to a cd r disc.
