I am trying to hook up blu ray dvd player to my samsung hdtv but only have one input for hdmi and the hdmi is plugged into the x1 cable box. I have an extra hdmi cord and a coax cable that are not being used. How am i supposed to hook up the dvd player

Either get some kind of HDMI Switcher off Amazon or elsewhere. Or manually unplug and plug in whichever box (dvd or cable) you want to use.
