Hello Guys,
I am a developer. I have no time or interest to fiddle with my laptop. I can't work with Windows 8.1 or 10 - I guess it's an old-dog-new-tricks situation...
I bought an 8.1 laptop and tried retrofitting windows 7 but that just works terribly - poor driver support.
Hence, I am looking for a laptop designed for Windows 7. Stored don't sell those, however. Even the ones made for Win7 are now provided with 8.1 (to make them more appealing to buyers) and that makes them hard to spot (if you are specifically looking for win7).
What I need:
Screen: 17", 1920x1080, matte with good viewing angles (dare I say IPS?)
CPU: Intel 3'rd gen and up (i3 and above)
GPU: I prefer an integrated 5'th gen (HD 4600 and above, preferrably HD 5500). If not, has to NVIDIA (ATI sucks), has to be QUIET and NICE ON BATTERY. I need just enough performance to run Star Craft II in good FPS even on 200 control. I don't play any other games.
I guess everything else is upgrade-able or not too important. I can pay top dollar for the best laptop out there that will allow me to cling on to windows7 as much as possible.
But to be honest, if I buy yesteryear's electronics, I don't think I should be paying too much.
Thanks
