So i will try my best to explain the entire situation. My system configuration is : CPU : FX-8350 AMD Black Edition / 16 Gb Ram (2x8 Hyper Fury Kit) / Nvidia Gtx 960 OC Strix / Motherboard MSI 970 Gaming.I am at the moment using Nvidia shadow play to record video game footage at 60 FPS / 20Mbps and the videos turn out great. The problem comes with me trying to edit and render the videos (using Sony Vegas Pro 13). The first problem is that Sony Vegas takes about 3 hours to render a 20 min video (and people are saying it is because sony vegas does not support Maxwell) is that supposed to happen? The second thing is that, after i render a video using the 59.970 Option with 20Mbps sony vegas ruins the quality of the video (is there a solution for that, to stop somehow sony vegas in ruining my video quality?). And one more thing : do you guys know any other video editing/rendering software that can work better with my system? Thank you for taking the time to read this long text !

I can't really comment on anything Sony Vegas does since I don't use it, but in general going from X bitrate lossy -> X bitrate lossy always results in quality loss. How much is going to depend on the content of the video and the quality of the encoder.

If you're looking for an NLE in the same class as Vegas Pro that supports Maxwell, try Premiere Pro. Officially, Adobe does not list Maxwell under their supported GPUs, but it works just fine with my 980s. I haven't rendered to H264 using premiere in a while because I've found the adobe h264 encoder to have very poor rate control compared to x264, but if I remember correctly, it would only take about 3-4x realtime for premiere to do a h264 2-pass encode at 1080p60 with minimal fancy...

I use Sony Vegas with : Sony AVC/MC (mp4. m2ts. avc) settings and the encode mode is automatic (so i think that Sony Vegas actually uses the CPU for rendering not being able see my GPU because of the Maxwell technology). Basically the thing that you are suggesting is buying another video card right? Thank you for your advice and the time you took to read my post but this does not solve anything because of 2 simple reasons :
1. I do not have any more funds to invest in another video card.
2. I do not want to change anything i just want to improve my situation as it is if possible.

Thank you again for your answer though !

Thank you aznricepuff ! I will try Adobe Premiere Pro if i can get my hands on that but i must admit that H264 is a must for me ! x4 / real time rendering time versus my x8 / x9 / real time its definitely an improvement ! Thank you again (i will pick this a solution if it works the way you say it does)

Later Edit : I did try out Premiere Pro and its everything you ever said it would be, thank you so much, you have no idea how much your advice helped me ! Thank you again !
