I recently got into policy debate at my school and my laptop broke so I need a new one. My budget is $600 to $700 and I would like a thin, lightweight, at least 15", long battery life laptop. As far as hardware innards I have a desktop for gaming so I don't need great performance but I don't want it to be slow (If possible, SSD would be amazing). I will be using it mainly for browsing and lots of MS Word. I also want it to last me a while. I don't mind weather it's Mac or PC but Mac is probably out of my budget. Thanks in advance!

I started with Acer E1-572 (i3) that came with only one stick of 4G ram. Added another 4G ram plus switched out to a Samsung 850 EVO 500G SSD. All for within your budget and made a killer little laptop that boots in 17 seconds and loads Firefox in 3 sec.
