I'm planning on getting a wall mount for a 50" TV. The TV will probably weigh around 30 lbs, maybe less.

I know I'll have to find the stud, and I have a stud finder for that.

My primary concern is if the "value" brand wall mounts are just as good as the name brands.

From what I've looked online for, the Kanto PDX650 seems to be pretty good. But, it's quite a bit more expensive than I wanted to pay for. Will something like this wall mount for less than a quarter of the price work the same, or will there be a serious compromise in doing its job as effectively as the Kanto?:

Alternatively, do you all have a better/comparable, and more economical TV mount to suggest? I do prefer to have it articulating with a reach off the wall of about 20"-24" or more. Tilting would be good so that it causes less neck strain. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion!

I see that it extends 20" - does this mean overall from the wall, or starting from the furthest point on the mount away from the wall when fully collapsed. In other words, for the latter, according to the specs the mount itself will be 2.5" thick so the TV will be 2.5" away from the wall when it's attached to the mount with no extension - will this mean that it's 20" in addition to how much it will already be away from the wall, or 22.5" in total extension?
