What is the difference between the two? Is the second one, Vcore, at a safe value? It seems a touch high.

PC Specs:
4790K
ASUS Z97-A USB 3.1
8 GB 1600 MHz RAM
SanDisk SSD
WD HDD
Sapphire 290X
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2

Solution
The second voltage, your 1.792v, is the VCCIN (this is what Asus call it), it's the VRM or CPU input voltage.
It's perfectly normal it the VCCIN to be running at that voltage.
