Hi Guyz...I have HP DV2000 and it screen keeps on blurring and shimmering the display. It doesn't shows anything clearly and after the windows 8 logo only a pattern of vertical and horizontal lines are shown. It recently came back after 6 days from a technician with a bad news that it is irreparable. He says that graphic chip is the problem and I have to replace the motherboard which costs more than the laptop itself. Another important thing is that it is currently using Intel graphics card not nVidia one. I don't know how but that is what the technician told me so the reflow and heating the graphic chip won't work.

Test the laptop first if it would work using an external monitor and see if it will the same. If the tech already determined that the graphics is already bad and it's built into the motherboard the only way around it is to really replace the motherboard itself.

external monitor works well. The problem is only with laptop screen.
