I have had terrible computers issues recently and I am at a complete loss about what to choose.
Before I had a HP Envy but I am pretty sure it was a lemon... nothing but issues with it within the first year of owning it I sent it back to HP twice and finally this time I was told they weren't going to be able to repair it.. so now my current situation is where to go from here, I really did like the features on the envy and everything I have found that's comparable is so expensive... it looks like what ever I choose I'm going to be compromising and losing at least one key feature I had before... My envy seriously had It all. The only serious gaming I do Is basically the sims 3 but the games are huge programs and I want a computer that will be able to do this task efficiently.
I am now stuck on where to go from here and am hoping someone here can help.
the first option is the ASUS K501U
•Processor: Intel Core i7-6500U (2.5GHz)
•RAM: 8GB DDR3L (1600MHz)
•Hard disk drive: 1TB 5400RPM
•Display size/type: 15.6" HD (1366*768)
•Graphic card: NVIDIA GT940M 2GB GDDR3
I purchased this computer at the store and it just arrived today I am using it right now and will probably be returning it.. the computer runs crazy loud and makes a sort of grinding sound that reminds me of old desktops from when I was a kid It also is missing the disk drive.. which is very important for sims and if I had known about this when the guy was telling me about it i wouldn't have bought it. but if I did decide to keep this computer would it be powerful enough to run the sims properly with a external disk drive?

my concern with this MSI is I've never even heard of this brand before and maybe it would be a waste to buy such a powerful computer for just the sims ( if it is really that good) or maybe it is a good idea because the sims would work great? I am not sure.

I am a little apprehensive about going back to HP because i had nothing but issues with my first one and Even the newer Generation of the Envy doesn't have all the features of mine but would it at least be able to run the sims well?
