My lenovo laptop ( less than a year old) has for the last couple of months suddenly showing a black screen for a few seconds then coming back to original screen without rebooting.

It doesn't happen on start up, and it's not while I'm playing games. It's set on a hard flat surface, and is warm, but doesn't seem like it's overheating. It happens when I'm using charger and while not using it. IE and Firefox up to date. No extra apps were installed. No problems with mouse. (Just trying to give as much info as possible, maybe to narrow it down.)

I ran a scan for updates for drivers on Windows, and everything is up to date.

Another issue which may be connected is that IE11 keeps freezing up on me when I am in games.
In addition, IE does not show images in my Yahoo email, but they do show with Firefox.

I have windows 8.1, Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro

Any help is appreciated.

thanks for the info
I did all the scans and cleaned up a couple of things, then reset IE. I'm now getting images in my emails and it seems IE is no longer freezing. Horray ! I won't know about the black screen for awhile since it is intermittent.

However, I am still having an issue with adobe flash freezing during games when I'm in Firefox. Don't know why, but some games play only with firefox and some with IE, so I need both to work properly. Any suggestions? I did uninstall and reinstall adobe.
