I am currently looking forward to get an Apple Computer. I do know much about PCs or Macs, so I taking your word for it.

I am aware that the most expensive Mac is the best, but is it really necessary? I am investing into a good computer for video editing maybe about 1080p video that is about 30 min long each. I am also looking forward to learn Swift and Java. Swift requires a MacBook or Mac too learn.

NOT SURE IF I AM GOING TO DO THIS MOBILE. MAYBE FOR SCHOOL NOTES? I TAKE A FILM CLASS I EDIT FILM? LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKE JAVA CLASSES.

Is +$200 worth it for 0.3GHz more?

My Question is I do not know if I will actually be editing outside of home for maybe surfing the web or editing video or programming. I know I can always plug in the MacBook into an external monitor, so it can work as in iMac with external Keyboard and mouse. also portability and less power. Pros and Cons in both

Here are my 3 options.

15" MacBook Pro - $2,100
Intel i7 Quad-Core @ 2.5GHz, Turbo Boost to 3.7
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
256GB PCIe-based Flash Storage
Intel Iris Pro Graphics
Force Touch trackpad

NO GPU

vs.

Only Difference is more SSD and 2GB GPU.

15" MacBook Pro - $2,500
Intel i7 Quad-Core @ 2.5GHz, Turbo Boost to 3.7
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage
Intel Iris Pro Graphics + AMD Radeon R9 M370X with 2GB GDDR5 memory
Force Touch trackpad

vs

27" iMac 5K - $2,000
3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
16GB 1867MHz DDR3 SDRAM - two 8GB
1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
AMD Radeon R9 M380 with 2GB video memory

Is it true you can use an external GPU?

Go for Macbook Pro 15 because it's portable and no one plays games on MAC :??: , so a dedicated GPU is useless except for Video Editing
