won't boot on a c55d after cloning a HDD from an identical laptop with Windows 7 it gives me no bootable device. It's not a bad HDD cuz I tried both in both pcs and I can't boot into the f2 bios

Solution
Ah but what you forgot is.
What interface mode was selected to run the hard drive in the system with the drive you cloned.

You see for example on the other laptop the interface mode in the bios when on that system windows was installed to the hard disk drive.

For the Sata mode it could of been set to Sata, Ahci, or Ide mode.
If you cloned the hard drive what ever mode the Sata interface was set to on the other laptop.

You have to change your Sata mode to the same on your laptop.
If you don`t the drive will be none boot able on your laptop.
Until you set the right mode in your laptops bios.
If you had any setting in the bios also that protected what we call the boot record, master boot record.
And it was enabled in your bios, it can...

Just look at what mode is set in the bios of the laptop you cloned the drive from.
Then set the same sata mode on your laptop.

If it still fails then something in the bios prevented the boot record from being transferred in order to boot windows.
